The best time to arb
If your hours are limited, spend them where the fixtures are: Saturday first, Sunday second, and within any day, the hours around kickoffs and the live windows of big matches. Arbitrage volume follows the football calendar almost mechanically.
intro1
The weekly rhythm #
Arbs need matches, and the football week is lopsided:
- Saturday is the king: around half of the week's fixtures, league play everywhere, soft books stretched across hundreds of markets. Most arbers' most profitable day, by volume alone.
- Sunday carries roughly another third of fixtures: nearly as rich, slightly calmer.
- Midweek (Tuesday to Thursday) brings the cup and continental nights: fewer matches but heavyweight liquid ones, with excellent InPlay windows in the evening.
The in-day windows #
Within a match day, arbs cluster where prices move: the hour before mass kickoffs (lineups drop, soft books lag the news), the halftime break, and the minutes after every goal (books re-open and re-price at different speeds). A limited-time arber does better sitting fully focused through the Saturday 16:00 kickoff wave than grazing the whole day thinly.
Planning a limited week #
With one free day, make it Saturday and prefund every account on Friday evening. With two, add Sunday. With scattered evenings only, take the midweek continental nights InPlay. Whatever the pattern, decide it BEFORE the week starts: arbs reward the arber who is already logged in, funded and watching when the window opens.
Where to go next #
The InPlay guide covers the live windows in depth, and the realistic-profit guide turns your available hours into an honest monthly number.
